Newton Author Richard Pagano Discusses Poetry, Upcoming Debut Novel

A Newton author's new poetry collection and forthcoming novel drew fresh attention this week, while the Newton Free Library rolled out its packed summer schedule of storytime, teen, and ELL programming.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Newton Free Library continues its busy summer slate this week, with programming for every age group. Wednesday brought Summer Outdoor Storytime for kids, a Mario Kart Tournament for tweens, and evening offerings including Reading Frederick Douglass Together and Wednesday Write Night for adults, along with a Loose Ends clothing repair session for teens. Thursday's lineup includes two rounds of Make Way for Storytime, a Summer Craft Club for kids ages 3-5, and the Hooked on Books Club for adults. Several English Language Learning classes, including English for Beginners and Improve Your Vocabulary, have reached capacity, reflecting strong demand for the program this summer.

Looking ahead, the library is also promoting its 150th anniversary activities and a Friends of the Newton Free Library outing to Fenway Park on August 17 for a Red Sox game, part of ongoing fundraising for the library.
