Newton July Deeds Show $595,000-to-$3.15 Million Range, Led by Cypress Street Sale

Nineteen properties recorded deeds in Newton from July 3 to Aug. 1, with 11 disclosing sale prices that ranged from $595,000 to $3.15 million and a median of $1.61 million. The period's top transaction was a $3.15 million sale at 40 Cypress St., bought by Cypress Street LLC from trustees Leonard J. Luproire and Leonard J. Luproire Jr. Seven of the 19 deeds were transfers within the same family into trusts, including two on Chestnut Street, and none of those seven disclosed a price. Eight of the 19 total sales did not disclose a price, and the data shows no clear indication of either a buyer's or seller's advantage this period.
