Newton Youth Soccer set an August 16 registration deadline for its Intramural Program and opened sign-ups for its U8 Academy.

TOWN -- The Newton Recreation Commission kept its summer aquatics programming running at the Municipal Pool this week. The Toddler Tide program, for children up to age 5, met Fridays from noon to 12:30 p.m.; the fee was $3 per toddler, with parents free, and the pool's zero depth and shallow play area was reserved exclusively for participants, according to the Recreation Commission. The Lazy River Workout, a low impact water walking class led by instructors Cathy Woodward and Becky Butcher, met Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m. and Fridays at 9:15 a.m., with fees of $4.50 for a drop in class or $35 for a 10 class card, the Recreation Commission said.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Newton Youth Soccer announced registration is open for its U8 Academy program, according to the club's website. The club also said registration for its Intramural Program closes August 16.
