Newton Library Hosts "Poop Museum" Science Saturday For Kids

NEWTON — The Newton Free Library kicks off a hands-on "Poop Museum" science program for kids Saturday morning, while Patch reports town officials could be weighing changes to overnight parking rules ahead of winter.

The Newton Free Library's Science Saturdays series welcomes Susie Maguire of the Poop Museum for a kids' program from 10 a.m. to noon on July 25, part of a full slate of weekend offerings at the Homer Street library. The same day brings "Crochet for Our Community" for tweens from 1 to 2:30 p.m., a Craft Supply Swap open to all ages from 2 to 4 p.m., and a Spanish bilingual "Our Stories" storytime for kids from 3 to 3:30 p.m.

The library's 2026 Summer Reading Program remains open to kids, tweens, teens and adults through September 4, and the building continues its summer schedule of Monday-to-Thursday hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
