Newton's Priciest Sale Tops $4.9 Million as Deed Prices Vary Widely
Eighteen properties in Newton changed hands at the South Middlesex Registry of Deeds between Aug. 28 and Sept. 26, though sale prices have posted for only eight so far. Prices among those eight ranged from $800,000 for a Cottage Street condominium to $4,950,000 for a single-family home on Green Park, with a median of $2,020,000. The Green Park sale, from Ashkon and Atara Hedvat to Green Park Realty Trust, was the period's largest transaction. Ten transfers, including two on Beacon Street, have no price recorded yet; most of those were transfers among family members or into family trusts rather than open-market sales awaiting price posting.
